The GPS seems to ignore this text when loading route. These waypoints were taken during a climb of Mt.Ararat on 8-12 July, 2002. I did not actually reach the summit since I got sick in Camp 2 so the waypoints stop there. AR001 is the Hotel Isfahan in Dogubayazit, a good place to stay. AR002 is the left turn off the highway about one KM east of the military checkpoint. AR004 is where the road ends at a house called Eli at 2000 meters elevation. The hike starts from here on old roads which eventually fade into a trail. AR011 is the usual CAMP 1 at 3340 meters where most stay the first night. There is water here, but I would boil or treat it to be safe. The route heads more southeast from here across boulders before you pick up the trail again. AR013 is the limit of the horses and has a couple of tent spaces. AR014 is Camp 2 a better spot about 50 meters higher at 4150 meters that has cleared spaces for about 12 tents. AR003 is the Noah's Ark visitors center included in case you want to see it. Note:Before loading this into your GPS, check that the unit is set to WGS84 and set the display to UTM. You can change it to latitude/longitude later if you want.
