| The earliest lookout on South Mountain was some type of cabin in 1933. This modern two story concrete structure with inverted window cab was built in 1964. Not many lookouts have windows like this which I have been told is a much superior setup since it eliminates a lot of reflections off the glass. Not staffed at the time of our visit.
