Mount Lyell is on the left and Mount Maclure on the right. Lyell is the higher peak, Maclure is 12,900 feet. Mount Lyell is the highest point in Yosemite Park and also the highpoint of Tuolumne County. Photo by Tom Rountree from Upper Kuna Creek Basin, June 2007.

Carving in the rock at Mount Lyell summit. I can't tell what the upper letters say, but the lower says USGS with a triangle below it which is probably the survey point. There is no brass survey monument on this peak. Photo August 28, 2002.
