Located on a small Stanislaus National Forest plot within a large holding of Sierra Pacific Company land

Woods Ridge Lookout was built by the CCC in 1939. It is an Aeromotor design with a seven foot square cab on a 100 foot tower. Back in 1913 there had been a crow's nest lookout atop a 100 foot pine tree. This tower has not been staffed since the 1970's. This lookout is now on the National Historic Lookout Register #1187.
