| The Needles lookout is on a spectacular rock dome north of Kernville. It was built in 1937 by the CCC's and is normally staffed during the fire season. This Lookout is #382 on the National Historic Lookout Register. Photos taken September 3, 2005. Here is a brochure on The Needles Lookout.
