Pilot Peak Lookout, Plumas County, California

Located in Plumas National Forest, Elevation = 7461 ft.

Pilot Peak is a two story, hexagonal cab with unique flying buttress supports for the overhang designed by USFS Architect Robert Sandusky. This was built to replace an older lookut that was burned by vandals in 1971. This lookout is on the National Historic Lookout Register #600. The structure is not used presently and could stand some repair. Photo by Dean Gaudet on June 14, 2019.
